Materials

Recommended material for the standard version is 250–350 gsm cardstock.

The project is designed for non-stretch materials, so you are not limited to paper. You can also use thick cardboard, EVA foam, plywood, sheet metal, and other rigid or semi-rigid materials. As long as the original proportions are maintained, all parts will fit together correctly.

Decorate It Your Way

The finished beaver is a great 3D canvas for painting and further decoration. Leave the natural kraft-cardboard look, paint only the cheeks, nose, teeth, or other details, or turn the whole sculpture into a bright modern art piece.

It can be used to decorate a home, kids’ room, classroom, studio, shop, theater, event, or other creative space. The characteristic large teeth also make it fun for children — you can even use the beaver to demonstrate how to brush teeth.

You can also put a branch, rope, or another lightweight object in its mouth, making it look like the beaver is holding or chewing it.

For more durable projects, the model can be reinforced or coated with foam, epoxy resin, or other protective materials. With proper weatherproof finishing, it can be used not only indoors but also for outdoor decoration.
