Architectural column design

Create a realistic Greek column as a large-scale decorative and structural element.

This model can be used as a pedestal, standalone decor piece, or part of a larger installation such as arches, сценографии, or themed environments.

The design combines detailed geometry with a modular structure, allowing you to scale and adapt it to your project.

Modular system

The column consists of three main sections:

• Top section — the most detailed and complex
• Middle section — simple and repeatable
• Bottom section — stable base element

You can extend the height by duplicating the middle section as many times as needed.

The standard size is based on a 4-segment build (top, two middle sections, and base).

Assembly

The assembly process is logical and well-structured, but the project itself is large and requires time and patience.

Parts are numbered in sequence, ensuring clear order and constant access to gluing areas during the build.

Key elements are designed with openings, allowing you to work from the inside until the final stage, when the structure can be closed if needed.

All formats are fully compatible with manual and machine cutting.

Scaling

The model can be scaled to any size depending on your needs.

Larger scale improves both structural strength and assembly comfort.

Materials & reinforcement

Recommended:

• Cardstock 300+ gsm or similar density cardboard

For increased strength:

• Reinforce the interior with expanding foam
• Coat the surface with epoxy resin

This allows the column to function as a durable pedestal or structural element.
